Event: Kentucky Derby 2020
Venue: Churchill Downs, Louisville, Kentucky
Date: Saturday 5th September, 2020
The Kentucky Derby, presented by Woodford Reserve, is a top rank, Grade I stakes race for 3 year old Thoroughbred horses. The race distance is one and one-quarter miles long, and it is run on the dirt racetrack at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
20 horses compete in the Kentucky Derby, which is a larger field size than most horse races; where on average 8 horses race against one another.
The Kentucky Derby takes place on the first Saturday in May every year (postponed date for 2020), and typically draws a crowd of 155,000 people. Often referred to being “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports”.
One of the truly unique characteristics of the Kentucky Derby, and its sister event, the Kentucky Oaks, is that they are sports parties that showcase the finest in spring fashions. Both female and male attendees pull out all of the stops when selecting their Kentucky Derby and Oaks apparel.
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to Derby dressing, in part because what you wear has much to do with where you plan to spend the day. At the Vantage point we can have you seated above the post, in the grandstands mingling with the rich and famous, in private hospitality events and if you like amongst the GA but with off-site hospitality included.
